From the very ends of earth,
I cry out in despair,
To You, oh God of all the earth:
Please attend unto my prayer!

Help me up to higher ground,
Where I may stand secure,
For in Thee my hope is found,
Ev’ry peril to endure!

Thou hast been for me a citadel,
To which I may repair,
Beneath Thy wings to hide my soul,
And dwell securely there!

I’ve made a covenant with Thee,
The heritage of Thy saints to share.
You preserve me with truth and mercy;
I will sing Your praise forever!
