Idahoan Psalter: Psalm 53

The Idahoan shares his paraphrase of the 53rd Psalm.

Lyrics:

The Lord looked down from heaven,
Upon the sons of men,
And found not one who sought Him,
No, not even one!

They worked abominations,
And in wicked ways e’er trod,
And, making foolish proclamations,
They claimed there is no God!

These evil men devour,
The people of the Lord,
But then they flee in terror,
And are ravaged by discord.

Their lot is to be fearful,
Without cause or reason why,
For their flesh and bones and soul,
God shall scatter by and by!

Have mercy, Lord, on Zion,
Who for Thy salvation waits,
For ‘tis Israel’s jubilation,
When You liberate her gates!
