The Idahoan shares his paraphrase of the 51st psalm.
Lyrics:

Oh God, have mercy on my soul,
According to Thy grace!
For pity’s sake be merciful,
My transgressions erase!
For I confess my sin to Thee,
Thy pardon now to seek:
Against Thee I’ve sinned grievously,
Thou wouldst be justified to speak,
A sentence of condemnation,
Upon me for my transgression!

Yea, from my very conception,
An evil man I’ve been!
My natural inclination,
Is always only toward sin!
Yet Your desire, oh my God,
Is truth and righteousness within.
And You alone, Oh Lord, my God,
Are able to make my soul clean!

Purge me with hyssop and with blood,
Pass over now my sin!
And so deliver me from guilt,
That in Thy salvation,
Even the bones Thou broke apart
May then rejoice again!
When in me Thou dost create,
A new and righteous heart,
Fit for the dwelling of the Spirit
Thou hast freely giv’n!

Then by Thy Spirit wisdom teach,
Unto my heart, oh Lord,
That I in truth Thy truth may preach,
And sinners understand Thy word:
A spirit of contrition is,
To Thee true sacrifice,
Without which Thou wilt not be pleased
With offerings of any price.
But seeing Thou my heart, receive,
An offering from my hand,
And please in Thy good pleasure leave
A blessing on this land!
