Time to start doing some serious soul searching on Gun Free Zones. After all, all they really do is get people killed. Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses an amicus brief in the matter of United States v. Allam, a challenge to 18 U.S.C. Sec. 922(q)(2)(A), which creates a 1000 foot buffer zone around all "school zones." The initial challenge to this law was unsuccessful, but on appeal, this amicus brief should have the judges wondering if the "buffer zone" has any legitimate constitutional support.
