In this DIY tutorial video I will show you which ingredients of the buttercream recipe will turn your cupcakes mysteriously green, and will make them glow in the dark in blacklight.
Halloween cupcakes are currently taking over youtube. Since I'm hosting a black light party myself on the 31st, I'm making lots of UV reactive food that will glow in the dark in ultraviolet light. I already shared a recipe for yellow glow cupcakes, but of course green fits Halloween even more! So here it is. Another great idea for these cupcakes: serve them at your New Years Eve black light party!
Experimenting with glow in the dark UV reactive food is a very fun thing to do. The first glow buttercream frosting I made were my pink glow cupcakes (recipe below), then the yellow ones, and now green glow cupcakes!
The recipe is easy. In this step by step tutorial video I will explain how to make the glow in the dark buttercream frosting. This is a basic glow cupcake recipe, so you can add vanilla, rum, or whipped cream as well so they suit your taste more.
These green UV reactive cupcakes will only glow in the dark in blacklight, also known as a UV light. Don't forget to buy one, otherwise the buttercream frosting won't glow! In normal light the cupcakes are a very bright green colour.
