i made/used it for ~$5 worth of parts(555 oscillator chip(~$0.5) plus some extra components(capacitor & adjustable resistors) to get the different frequencies, made copper electrodes to strap over a small section of vein, need electrolyte paste which i used guar gum dissolved with lemon juice concentrate. yes they work but are over priced. the most expensive thing would be a ~$5 bread-board which might not be needed if you can solder well and then a multi-meter which can read frequencies(~
