I have often wondered, if one calculated the legitimate negative effects of this lockdown, would they be worse than the virus itself. And I find myself in a quandary. Because I really do think, that the lockdown, has worse effects on not just the actual LIFE tally, but also the emotional and spiritual welfare of individuals. Divorce rates are up, Suicides are up, Opioid addictions are up(Death count will be spread across years), Domestic Abuse is up, Mental health issues are drastically up. It scares me to start adding all this up. There is so much out there beyond a bodycount that is happening. I fear for our mental physical and spiritual health.
