The Meteorological Service says a flash flood warning is now in effect across the entire country.
This as Tropical Storm Ida formed to the southwest of Jamaica. The flash flood warning is effective until 5:00p.m. tomorrow.
The Meteorological Service is advising the public that a flash flood warning remains in effect for Eastern and South Central parishes while all other parishes are under a flash flood watch.
The Met Service says low-lying and flood-prone areas of St. Mary, Portland, St. Thomas, Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine, Clarendon, and Manchester are under flash flood warnings.
Westmoreland, Hanover, St. James, Trelawny, St Ann and St Elizabeth are under a flash flood watch.
It says an area of low pressure approximately 200 miles south of Jamaica is producing showers and thunderstorms currently affecting the island.
Additionally, environmental conditions are conducive for development, and a tropical depression or storm is expected to form later today or tomorrow.
