They are among the best in their class. They have the ability to hit targets from 100 meters to 4 kilometers away. They can shoot down helicopters, planes and even missiles. And yes, of course, they are already at the disposal of the AFU. The German Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns finally arrived in Ukraine.

The unit is designed primarily to fight airborne targets. There are only three crew members: a driver, a commander and a gunner. Its high mobility and turret slewing speed allow a rapid response to air danger.

The Gepard is used primarily to fight low-flying targets, which have a speed of between 350 and 400 meters per second. These can be both certain kinds of munitions and objects, such as attack helicopters. In fact, this kind of setup is used as an air defense tool.

Each of the two cannons is capable of firing 550 rounds per minute! That is, in 60 seconds the Gepard can hit the target more than 1,000 times! A wide range of ammunition makes this self-propelled anti-aircraft gun effective even against lightly armored vehicles.
