Of course, the Kremlin never predicted anything of the kind. It always seemed that countries like Estonia, Lithuania Latvia and, for example, Finland were something very small, weak and not very deserving of attention. And in vain. The accelerated entry of Finland and Sweden into NATO was the first slap in the face to dictator Putin. After years of threats of retaliation and symmetric responses, the Kremlin has signed its geopolitical defeat with a 1,300-km shared border with NATO. It got tangible problems with supplying the occupied Kaliningrad region.
