Was Polio really eliminated by vaccines? Or did they just simply rename the symptoms to make it look like Polio was eradicated?

Polio is always referred to as the “Gold Standard” example of how vaccines eliminated one of the worst viruses of the 20th Century yet data shows Polio was already in decline when Salk introduced the vaccine. Later Polio symptoms re-emerged as toxicological injury from other vaccinations.
