Con Edison Farragut Substation Explosion in Brooklyn caused Power Disturbance

Crews in Brooklyn worked overnight to restore power to parts of New York City following an explosion at a Con Edison substation.

So far this was a momentary power outage that affected NYC, as well as Long Island, Westchester, and maybe even Connecticut. There was a large explosion at the Con Edison Farragut substation in Brooklyn around 11:54pm Thursday evening. Some subway lines are delayed due to signal problems and 3rd rail outages, and the LIRR is having delays due to signal trouble at Woodside. And there are no escalators or elevators working at the LIRR Grand Central Madison concourse, trapping those inside who can't climb the stairs.
