Comparing YHM Phantom to Battle Comp
We tested the YHM Phantom flash hider and the Battle Comp 2.0.
The YHM does a good job at mitigating recoil in general. It also does a good job as a flash suppressor. Its a bit of a compromise between the two, so it isn't the best at either. One upside is that it also works well as a stand-off device due to the serrations on the muzzle side.
The Battle Comp on the other hand is a compensator first and only slightly reduces the flash signature. It works extremely well as a compensator however. Felt recoil is reduced almost entirely as well as muzzle rise. It's almost an odd sensation when you shoot with the Battle Comp as it almost feels like its pushing the muzzle down after each shot. Follow up shots are more precise and quicker as a result.
These bursts were actually aimed at a steel target 300 yards away. More hits were had with the Battle Comp as a direct result of the superior recoil control.
