The apostle Paul - under the inspiration of the Spirit of God - admonishes us, brethren, to "let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from [us], with all malice." - Ephesians 4:31.

Revenge is malice.

One of the hardest commands that our Lord Jesus ever gave us is "'love [our] enemies, bless those who curse [us], and pray for those who spitefully use [us] and persecute [us].'" - Matthew 5:44.

It certainly takes the growth of the LORD God's Spirit within us [the very minds of God the Father and our Lord Jesus] to help us, because of our carnal minds, to be able to love those who cause or caused us harm.
