Change Flat Tire With Spare Tire
Hands on start to finish putting the spare tire on to replace a flat tire.
Essential for new drivers.
Make sure you are in a safe place to make the change.
Engage emergency flashers/ warning lights or signals
.
The side of a busy road/freeway/highway is not a safe enough area, if you can, drive to a flat safe area.
If not pull far enough off the road to not be a hazard to moving traffic.
I would recommend making sure you have a all the required tools in your car, today, before you need them.
Check your spare tire as part of a regular tire inspection and maintenance.
Check spare tire air pressure with the other tires.
**If you are unable to complete any step, stop, and get roadside assistance.
Safety First!!
Engage Warning Lights Set parking brake.
1. Get spare tire, jack, and tools ready.
2 . Loosen lug nuts.
3. Safely lift the car.
4. Remove lug nuts and flat tire.
5. Install good tire.
6. Replace lug nuts just to snug.
7. Safely lower the car
8.. Tighten the lug nuts.
9. Clean up tools.
10. Never crawl or reach under car while lifted.
