Hey I love Glocks. We have lots and they are proven, excellent combat pistols. But when a solid and IMPROVED design like the Canik TP9SA comes out at substantially less, I’m interested as a reviewer. This is an infield update review on the Single Action TP9 variation. See my original full length video here first on the type: striker fired version of the excellent TP9 9mm https://youtu.be/93-DJbuBUEA It is again an ISO9000 Turkish produced, large capacity (18 rds) pistol by Canik. It is a licensed copy of the also excellent Walther P99. In 2013 testing, the “DA” version of this gun was impressive. This is even better, featuring a much better rear sight, better grip, better stippling, and a smooth, fast-reset trigger. Mike Jardine, TacticalDoodle, and myself hit the desert at night to show how it stacks up against the original. For the money we come away thoroughly impressed on this initial shooting. It will take time and lots more data to establish itself as a proven GTW pistol, but from what we see here, the TP9 is on the right track.

I am 55 plus and been shooting for years. Never shot a Glock til this past year (always preferred steel guns)(I know). Was impressed. But had to readjust my wrist angle when I shot it. (My test is to look at aim point, close eyes, bring the gun up and aim, open eyes). Was talking to my neighbor a couple days later and he said he had a Canik SA he was thinking of selling. He brought it over and I thought it was an easier pointing gun. (same test) Guess what I bought? No I didnt buy his gun. I bought one on line for 295 in box. I have no problem with the decocker and actually prefer it. Mine has it, my neighbors doesnt (he didnt sell it), but the offer is still on the table. Lol
