“Your personality is not who you are.”
This quote has sat with me for a long time, and has helped me focus on inner dialogue versus outward expression.

"The Untethered Soul" was great. Very good wisdom on changing one's perspective on how we limit ourselves and how to adopt new attitudes towards our potential for navigating emotions. I just finished Oliver Burkeman's "Four Thousand Weeks." It's a fascinating read about limited time in this life and has great suggestions on how to think in different ways in order to free yourself from the anxiety of missing out on life. A very "Live in the Moment" type book.

Very good Chrissy, You may also enjoy "The Nature of Personal Reality" which was plagiarized by a washed-up, drinking psychologist into the non-spiritual book (a year later) called "Your Erroneous Zones." hmmm, Both books turned his life around, I suppose.

I really like learning. It gives me goosebumps ,every time I hear or see something meaningful, interesting and strong based theory. I sometimes really want to know what was the reason or drive that people had to come to that solutions and how it becomes possible. It is so fun learning something new or interesting. I want to be in that professor's class.

there's days when, as an introvert, you feel odd, misplaced, not fitting in, alone with how you feel. And then you watch this and you feel like it really is perfectly OK just the way you are. Thank you so much Brian for this talk. And of course making it blatantly clear how limited my vocabulary is to yours.

Not really. I still feel alone and out of place

@David Olatunji isn't out of place a hint that we need to change venue ? For me it is and it has helped me many times to change places to take the "out" of out of place. I sure have learned the vast difference between solitude and loneliness. But I think the most important factor for me was to understand that the only thing which can really kill me, throw me in a hole, are my expectations and that being comfortable with uncertainty and acceptence of myself the way I am is key for me to be happy, whatever that may be.
Of course everybody's mileage will vary so these are just my 2 cts.
And I am still benefitting from this talk and have made extending my vocabulary an ongoing task.

Tbh it just makes me want to be more extroverted, I strive to make connections and build relationships but with my introversion it's almost impossible and it takes a toll on my mental health

I found this too late so I turned to drugs instead. Opiates made me feel comfortable and as myself for a very long time but I've started to feel more and more comfortable in my own skin the last years after I turned 30.
