In 2013 I had a black flash camera watching a spring and in 2014 I put a Browning Strike Force standard IR flash camera in the same location. You can see how the sensors on the standard IR flash Strike Force camera are able to capture more illuminated images at greater distances.

Black flash cameras are completely invisible at night. Standard IR flash cameras you can see faint red dots on the camera if you look directly at it when it is taking pictures or video. My preference is the standard IR flash as I get better quality imagery at night and I get deer/elk pausing to look directly at the camera giving me a better look at the critter's antlers.
