Wonderful lesson... I have been in rescue for over 20 years and you can see how much animals help humans. Service dogs, police dogs, family dogs/cats, etc. You are right, though, humans come first and animals should not be idols. Take care of them or let them go to someone else. Thousands and thousands of animals are being put to sleep in shelters and so many go through great abuse. If anyone needs help in placing an animal in rescue or adopting one go to petfinder.com
