This is a clip from one of my favorite movies "Banjo On My Knee" from 1936. Yes the storyline is weak and some of the acting is horrible, but I love the story anyway and I love all of the great music! It is set in New Orleans. This clip features Buddy Ebsen (Buddy) singing and dancing to "Banjo On My Knee" and he is joined by Barbara Stanwyck (Pearl Elliott Holley) in her first film that she sung and danced in, and they dance to "Swanee" with music provided by "The River Troubadours". Walter Brennen (Newt Holley) joins in with additional background accompaniment on his contraption.
