Amyloidosis: Familial ATTR Type Treatment Options

Not a whole lot is allowed to be said about the treatment options for ATTR. They really do not want a whole lot of coverage, so the sites are limited to those in the medical profession. This video is short due to the lack of information I am allowed to provide as to treatment options. Two medical terms you need to be familiar with are neuropathy and cardiomyopathy.

Neuro - having to do with nerves
Pathy - means disease of
Cardio - means heart
Myo - means muscle

With that brief medical terminology lesson, this video should make more sense to you.

Just so you are aware, "SC" is a medical abbreviation for subcutaneous. It is a layer of the skin under the epidermis (outer layer) in which injections, such as insulin, are given.
