Doesn't surprise me. They had plans to solar-cars back in the 70s too, IIRC, and that was bought and shelved by Big Oil too. The real question is: why haven't they made a new version of this? I'm also reminded of a genius French inventor (Jean Pain) who powered his car on wood chips! I've also seen "wood gasifier" driven vehicles as well, one notable one was done by YouTuber "Engineer775.

Back in the 1970's a jewelers welding torch was introduced and still does quite well, which is known as a hydro-torch that can reach some tremendously high temperatures. It is powered by, and burns water. Breaking H2O down to its component gasses, it burns them and leaves a NASTY by-product commonly known as water! (Nasty Stuff!) LOL! But TRUE non the less.
