A New Voice For Nitara Upcoming Mod! MK Epic Fandub By SunBunz
(ππππππππ πππππππ ππππππππ ππππππππ... duh.)
This is a project I've wanted to finish for months. Hollywood actress Meh-gan Fox's portrayal of Nitara in Mortal Kombat 1 was mostly subpar, the majority of her lines were delivered flat, uninspired, and frankly she sounded bored, lacking in charisma or passion which disappointed many a gamer, so I figured...what the hell. I knew I could do better.
...so, here we are.
The actress who performed Nitaraβs Kombat sounds were performed by Cristina Valenzuel βͺ@CristinaVeeMusicβ¬ ...who did a SUPERB job, and she shouldβve also done the speaking lines, but whatever. I did my own Kombat noises at no added charge just for fun. I didnβt mind the banshee-like screeching and cat-like hissing, but I figured Iβd add my own little flavor of a more primal and demonic style for those vampire sounds.
As for the speaking voice, knowing Nitara is an immortal being, a leader of vampires, tens of thousands of years old, I wanted her to sound more matriarchal, wise and seductive with a lower octave.
Using her likeness wasn't that bad, Nitara's beautiful, and mind you, not ALL her lines she said sounded that bad, some were actually pretty good, if youβve actually watched all the videos of her speaking.
But the writing of the dialoge itself didnt make it easy for me, either. Itβs pretty cringy. But most Mortal Kombat games arenβt enjoyed due to βexcellent writing,β of course.
Despite that, however, Meganβs sounded very wooden, like the casting director had a limited time to record, yelled, βCut! Yup, thatβll have to, hereβs your check, Megan.β I assume she charged a pretty penny for them, and thereβs a theory that they were afraid to offend her and took a step back and didnβt direct her properly, and this is the result.
