On June 12th 1987, President Ronald Reagan famously proposed "Mr. Gorbachev, Tear Down This Wall", in reference to the Iron Curtain that separated East from West. The wall stood for more than a mere concentration-camp style barricade keeping the Communist East incarcerated - it also divided Socialism from Freedom. Two months later, Reagan would also famously practice what he preached at home - and executed a directive to tear down the walls of censorship in the United States through a mirror image titled action titled "The Fairness Doctrine".
Rush Limbaugh was one of the first - and by far, the most famous examples of what happens when the muzzle of radical left censorship is removed from the faces of freedom - as his radio program set a new standard of activism and conservative voice - for the first time since the Great Depression. Rush Limbaugh wasn't just a household name - his radio show educated millions as to the worth and merit of a free economy, the dangers of radical left agenda (dressed up as manners) - and the importance of Character when it comes to holding elective office holders to account.
Rush Limbaugh changed the United States - and launched many careers in broadcasting who's future voices are yet to leave their marks. Rush Limbaugh died of lung cancer today - after a lengthy battle with the disease. He was 70 years old. His first million-seller book - titled "The Way Things Ought To Be" dreamed of a United States free from the tyranny and pleasant manners which cover up their crimes. He may not have lived to see it come to fruition - but, we are on the border of that promised land - and I want to take a moment and thank God for his servant - Rush Hudson Limbaugh, III. He will be greatly missed.
