    You are creating an angle because the rest of the slides lower than the sand paper.

    Thank you. You are absolutely correct. It would be better to also support the frame by the same amount on the bottom to maintain proper angles.

    I thought about it some more. Depending on the amount of material that needs to be removed, the frame will eventually even out and start gliding on the plate. So, if one wanted to be super precise, the frame should be supported by something that is thinner than the sandpaper used where the difference is the amount of material that should be removed from the rail.
