'More Rain than Germany in ONE HOUR?' Flash flooding in China sees Subway Passengers Stranded in Chest-High Floodwater! (Distressing/Graphic images)

Horrific scenes are emerging from operations to rescue people stranded in rising water on a commuter train in Zhengzhou, China.

Henan province has been hit hard by freak flooding in recent days which has affected more than a dozen cities. Unverified footage shows people being washed away, or saved from the brink of drowning.

The death toll is not yet known but live imagery trending on Chinese social media shows the extent of the situation.
