SOLUTION
The better idea is to stop paying Amtrak anything. They don't check tickets when you get on the train so if you are going to jump on freight trains, you might as well jump on an Amtrak train since they don't check you ticket. They also selectively enforce the mask hoax on riders saying it is a law that you must wear it all over the US but they only seem to enforce it in the West states like California, Arizona, and central states like Texas.

This time I have been on-hold for about an hour just to reserve a seat on a train. Amtrack's website also does not work to reserve trips with the multi-pass. They say you must reserve your ride in advance online with RideReserve or you may be committing a crime by boarding the train but RideReserve is not available online and booking a return trip also does not work on their site through the normal way. This is a real criminal fraud that Amtrak is purveying on paying customers by refusing to assist them to book travel after they have already paid for a monthly pass. Your taxes pay for Amtrak to push this fraud on us.

Flix Bus is not perfect, but they are new, and they are a better alternative to Greyhound and Amtrak. They are much nicer and their bus and travel options are much newer.

The Current Amtrak / Greyhound Map Is A Scam!
It shows there is no bus or trains available going east past Missoula but I have taken the bus from Billings and other locations where it says there is no service in this last year! It almost seems like they don't want you to visit the middle states where people are more friendly and they don't power trip on others for mask wearing like they do in crappy states like California and Texas.

Amtrak makes criminal threats to abandon their paying customers who do not wear a mask but they don't enforce mask wearing.
Amtrak says the only reason you are allowed to have your mask below your nose is if you are actively eating and drinking but the 40% of paying customers in the Nashville TN terminal are not wearing their masks while they talk on their cell phones.

Also this number is used by a criminal false advertiser that says they help with yard work and other services and tell you to give them your phone number, your personal information like your name and email but after they find out your location and where they need to do they quote, they say they are too busy and refuse to do anything. This is not to say that Amtrak—or any other passenger rail service—does not provide any benefits to people. As I wrote at the beginning of this article, I enjoy riding the rails with my wife, just as I have enjoyed riding trains in Europe and when I go back to China to teach within the year, we will take advantage of the massive Chinese tax subsidies of passenger rail there as well. However, I’m also sure I would benefit from taxpayers providing me with free helicopter service, a free home, and free meals the rest of my life.

Even Paul Krugman might recognize that the items listed in the last sentence would not confer net benefits to society at large. Even if I were to declare all these things to be “public investments,” that would not change the fact that they were naked wealth transfers and that enough of them would ultimately drag down an entire society.

Economically speaking, however, there is no substantive difference between the “investments” taxpayers would shower upon me and the “investments” made in Amtrak. Both are based upon wealth transfers, end of story.

While people die in Kentucky like Taylor, the local population reported to be named "Chase" cry wolf about a man walking down the road. Today, Monday September 13, 2021 around noon, I was pulled over by THREE black police SUVs while WALKING in Kentucky. The police who asked me at least five times if my "Pants were around my ankles to flash people" must have not been able to see well since I was not wearing pants, I am wearing shorts, and they were on in a usual way. He required my state ID which includes my full name, birth date, address, and other information about where I was going. Of course "Dispatch" did not require any information from the cry wolf caller besides a name which may be fictitious. In other states when you call the police, you need to give them your full name and other information to confirm it is you before police are sent to the scene. This helps a little to prevent people from making up lies to waste our taxes like they did today. While HALF of the local police department in Kentucky was responding to the false claims that my pants were down around my ankles, some child was being raped and killed or murdered like in the case of Taylor. Liberal (leftist) does not mean waste our taxes with false claims against men who choose to walk along the road instead of wasting fuel. It means we pool our taxes together to help people who are actually in need.

The police did drive me south as requested but I am in the same position as I was before where I am not allowed to walk along the freeway, and when I walk along the road next to the freeway, some liar calls the police with a false claim.
