70 thousand hectares have been engulfed in flames, as the emergency services continue to battle against the elements.

A state of emergency has been declared with multiple homes burnt through, but there's currently no information regarding possible victims. Droughts are compounding the problem, with the flames spreading across an area of more than half a million hectares.

The Dixie Fire has already been raging for more than 10 days.
