To make matters worse, computer keyboards have pushed us further away from writing by hand, and in my case, so much so that my patience for hand writing has become so short that my hand writing is barely readable. 25 years of typing on a keyboard almost never needing to write anything on paper anymore has nearly erased the craft from my skill set. I can image what it's done to our children.

I'm not sure if that is the actual agenda or not. But I have seen written letters that were done in cursive and basically almost unreadable and yet others were flawless and very easy to read. It is a lot faster to write in cursive than to print. Possibly it comes down to lazy teachers or possibly there are students that can barely spell a word little own write a sentence in cursive. This may come down to simply very low IQ in some children. And throw in the fluoride plus all the toxic chemicals and pills plus injections no wonder kids aren't being taught cursive. Throw in that most the teachers are Marxist idiots themselves the kids don't have a chance. So very likely if you want your children to be able to write in cursive, you are very likely going to have to teach them yourself. Because I'll bet there are many low IQ teachers that can't write in cursive either. Marxism is wonderful for destroying any culture. And you can thank the satanic Zionist for Marxism because they been promoting it from day one.

It's not so much that later generations won't be able to read these documents, but instead it alienates them. Someone who never learned cursive could easily look up a plain text version, however they will always perceive them as being "out of date" and written in an obsolete form of writing, and therefore will not identify with or have much respect for.

Mmm... Just to prevent them reading a few historic documents? There are text versions available after all! In the current keyboard-driven world maybe schools value touch-typing abilities more and want an emphasis on that instead? Nice hair though!
