Part of the city of Maracaibo was flooded due to the heavy rain that fell on the capital of Zulia during the afternoon of Monday, October 31. Citizen reports showed on social networks how several streets and avenues were flooded.

Due to the severe flooding on the road, a large number of cars floated in the water, and the traffic was paralyzed for a time. Vehicle is dragged by the waters between Cecilio Acosta and Bella Vista avenues in Maracaibo.

Through the video, several people are seen with the water above their knees and cars floating in the flood. Houses in many areas were also flooded.

According to local media, ravines near areas such as Las Veritas and Universidad Avenue overflowed. At present, relevant departments are making every effort to organize flood relief.

Local residents are reminded not to go out unless necessary, and pay attention to personal safety.

In recent days, the state of Zulia has been severely affected by torrential rain due tropical waves over the Caribbean, which have wreaked havoc as they pass through the west of the country.
