Under the Dome is a documentary examining not only Smog in China, but revealing how China financially props their loss making heavy industries such as steel and coal, which not only undermines global markets, but also undermines their own economy.

It shows how internationally accepted environmental regulations are ignored in order to keep prices low, and how environmental protection groups have little-to-no power to fulfil their roles.

The film demonstrates a concerning state policy of progress at all costs, and shines a light on how other up and coming economies around the wall are now facing the same problem.

Under the Dome (穹顶之下;) is a 2015 self-financed Chinese documentary by Chai Jing, a former China Central Television journalist, and Ming Fan, the documentary director, her long-term working partner at CCTV, concerning air pollution in China. It was viewed over 150 million times on Tencent within three days of its release and had been viewed a further 150 million times by the time it was taken offline four days later.
