Pink Floyd is one of the few bands with a truly massive staying power. Founded in 1965, people of all ages are still listening to their music today. Originally influences by music hall and blues sounds, the band later pivoted to psychedelic rock thanks to founding member Syd Barrett, whose tenure with the group was highly influential but brief.

Pink Floyd's run essentially ended in 1983, though founder Roger Waters continued as a solo artist while the other members of the band released two more albums as Pink Floyd in the '80s and '90s.
