Between the PRC-349 and PRC-351 you find the PRC-350 portable military radio. It is pretty compact, covers 36 to 56 MHz FM and outputs 2W. While pretty small compared to the 351/352, it still isn't as practical for prepping as a modern handheld, but could be part of a group communications plan. It is also very inexpensive for the quality you get. Yet I would not recommend it but for a limited set of applications due to their age. 6m FM is a great band, under-used and under-appreciated.
