When people think of Utah, they tend to not think of volcanoes. Yet, the state contains two active volcanoes, one of which is located next to the towns of Fallon and Fillmore. Several of its vents have erupted quite recently, and this volcano contains several active hot springs. The volcano I am referring to is called Black Rock Desert, which was the site of the most recent volcanic eruption within Utah. This eruption occurred 730 years ago in 1290 AD. As such, it may only be a matter of time before this volcanic field erupts again. This video will discuss this volcano, and mention what its future hazards are.
