I am a retired RCMP Officer living in a rural setting in Nova Scotia, Canada. I spend my time enjoying nature and feeding my furry friends, the raccoons. I also feed the deer in the winter months and many varieties of birds. I have two rescue cats named Connor and Charlotte.

Lost one of my raccoons today it was hit by a car. He is buried on my property under a spruce tree.

Aww I'm so sorry one of your babies got killed. I wish people would slow down for animals. RIP sweet little angel. He died knowing he was loved by you Jim. Thank you for giving him a nice burial. Word is out all through the woods that Jim's Diner is the best place to eat hot dogs, pb sandwiches, grapes and cookies and the deer say the apples are great.

So, so sad. People drive like maniacs and rarely pay attention. RIP little raccoon. Thanks for burying him - so thoughtful. The wild ones don't take very long to learn trust. They've taken to being hand-fed with no trouble at all. That is so awesome!

My cat, teddy, is a huge fan of all your videos. We watch them together before bed. I don't think he realizes raccoons are the same size he is. Stay warm! And thank you for giving our poor friend a proper funeral.

I remember the baby raccoon that was hit by a car last year. Another died today. It's very sad to hear that.
