State of Emergency Declared In California As Wildfires Batter Mariposa County

Governor Gavin Newsom made the call as blazes which have been raging since Friday remained unconfined in the state's east.

Over 15,000 acres of land have been destroyed and more than 3,000 people in the state have been given forced evacuation orders.

Footage uploaded to social media shows the volume of the Oak fires which are now even visible from some satellite pictures.
