She was a high priced escort... a woman of the night... a notorious sinner. She was so fixed in sin that seven devils possessed her. And yet our dearest Lord, the Incarnate Mercy of God, would choose her to demonstrate His infinite Mercy and the transforming power of His divine grace. The woman I speak of is St. Mary Magdalene. Although our Blessed Mother would be the first to see her Risen Son, the Magdalene would be chosen to both see and announce the risen Christ making her the apostle to the apostles. Eventually, she would be forced into exile ending up in Europe...in the area known as Gaul, the city of Marseilles to be exact. There she would preach the Resurrection of Christ before pagan peoples. Eventually, she became a hermitess, living in a cave doing penance for the last 30 years of her life. On July 22, 72 AD, St. Mary Magdalene was taken to heaven by her Risen Lord.
