Sir Desmond Swayne 'speechless about the way people shrug as our liberties are taken away'
A Conservative MP has told talkRADIO of his despair over further coronavirus lockdowns, saying he is "speechless about the way people simply shrug as our liberties are taken away."
Household mixing could be allowed over Christmas, but scientists have warned that each day’s freedom might require five days of tougher measures to make up for it.
Speaking to Julia Hartley-Brewer, Sir Desmond Swayne responded to the reports saying: “I’m speechless about the way people simply shrug as our liberties are taken away.
"We’re told we may be able to meet another family at Christmas. The last time a government sought to interfere with Christmas it was Oliver Cromwell.”
