Complete Terrapin Story ( A Sufi parable in Rumi style)

This version from the lyricist contains twice as much material as used in the GD versions.

Interpretation:

Robert Hunter wrote three important GD songs in one sitting, in London on a park bench, over a bottle of port; Ripple, To Lay Me Down, & Brokedown Palace. The source for this account comes from https://pluto.tv/on-demand/mov....ies/classic-albums-g

The song Terrapin Station was first performed by the grateful Dead on Feb. 26, 1977 at the Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino, California. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnQxdqoiJx4

Oddly enough, on September 11, 1981, the auditorium was irreparably damaged when it was struck by a twin-engine Cessna T310P, registered N5705M, in an accident that killed the pilot and passenger, following which the building had to be demolished. [note the inauspicious date, exactly 20 years before 9-11] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swing_Auditorium

Here is a different SBD recording of the same version, '77 Sambo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgP8eoP1GH8
