Rescue teams are to deliver COVID-19 vaccines and food to areas cut off by Storm Filomena in Spain by air.
A team from the Madrid Emergency Health Service was the first to take to the skies in a helicopter on Sunday (January 10).
The Spanish government will also send supplies in convoys by road after the heaviest snowfall in decades.
Four people have been killed, more than 400 roads have been affected, and hundreds of travellers were stranded at Madrid's Barajas airport, which closed on Friday (January 8) but will reopen gradually later on Sunday.
Forecasters warned of dangerous conditions in the coming days, with temperatures expected to fall to up to minus 10 Celsius (14 Fahrenheit) next week and the prospect of snow turning to ice and damaged trees falling.
