Replacement Windshield - HAR

I feel your pain. I was a Pennsylvania insurance 20 years ago for a top PA based company. At the time "repairs" (epoxy) were free of "deductible" charge from the comprehensive coverage (Comp. = anything other than collision). With a complete glass replacement then you would forfeit your chosen comprehensive deductible amount. Some agents from certain companies were great at telling clients to go with the zero dollar deductible for "glass coverage" (yes, you pay extra annual premium for a $0.00 deductible, hence the agent makes a nominal bit extra commission). I would ask prospective clients how many windows they've ever replaced... Most said never. Obviously, some people replace glass almost weekly so a zero D would pay off for them. Others, I told them they could go with a $100. or higher deductible then bank the saved premium and make nominal interest instead of making the insurance the insurance company rich. Were were an honest agency trying to sell the people the best options. Did I mention I'm no longer an agent?
