Protester injured as tensions Flare during pro-Palestine rally in NYC

A protester was left bloodied after he was hit over the head with a chair at a pro-Palestine protest in New York City on Tuesday.

The footage shows police officers escorting the man away from the large crowd of protesters to prevent further escalation, as blood ran down his face and neck. He was rushed to safety was finally locked in a retail store.

Violence has erupted in recent days amid protests in East Jerusalem over possible evictions of Palestinian families from Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood. Clashes that began at the Al-Aqsa compound escalated into an exchange of rockets between Hamas and Israel on Monday.
