If you have trouble when consuming nuts, this video is for you. Nuts have more phytic acid than grains or legumes. Phytic acid is something that a seed uses to help bind minerals and prevent biochemical reactions to allow the seed to sprout. Phytic acid is a chemical to keep things locked up.

When you consume foods with phytic acid, you’re creating a problem with calcium, zinc, magnesium, copper, and iron absorption. Not only that, but you also can’t utilize a lot of the enzymes needed to digest the food. Now, the food will tend to sit in the stomach, creating all sorts of bloating, irritation, and inflammation.

Nuts high in phytic acid:
1. Almonds (9.4 % phytic acid)
2. Walnuts (6.7% phytic acid)
3. Brazil nuts (6.3% phytic acid)

There is a simple solution for phytic acid. All you have to do is mimic the normal sprouting or germination process that naturally occurs when you plant a seed.

To do that, all you have to do is soak them in water overnight. This will release the phytic acid, and they will be much easier to digest. Then, you can dry the nuts out by putting them in the oven at a very low temperature or using a dehydrator.

When you germinate nuts and seeds and dry them out, the taste is much better, the nutrition is way better, and they are much easier to digest.
