Prophecy is...

The thing that hath been, [past] it is that which shall be [future]; and that which is done [present] is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
{Ecclesiastes 1:9}

That which hath been [past] is now [present]; and that which is to be [future] hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
{Ecclesiastes 3:15}

"Write the things which thou hast seen [past], and the things which are [present], and the things which shall be hereafter [future];"
{Revelation 1:19}

Question: which opposing methods of interpitation is based on a true assumption?

--Preterism: prophecy is interpreted to be mostly fullfilled in the past.
(And the nonsensical teaching that the antichrist, came before Christ.)
{Luis de Alcasar; Jesuit monk circa 1604 A.D.}

--Futurism: prophecy is interpreted as future events, some falsely believe that the Apocalypse is not for the church.
(The pre-tribulation)
{Francisco Ribera; Jesuit monk, circa 1585 A.D.}
^
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
{2 Peter 1:20}

--☆Historicism: prophecy is interpreted, past, present, and future.
(useing the day for a year principle with time prophesies)

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,

Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
{Isaiah 46:9-10}

Modern Israel is of the machinations of men.
The promise to Abraham was that he would be the father of many nation, by faith, not of flesh.

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the TRADITION of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
{Colossians 2:8}

Here is wisdom. Let him that has understanding COUNT THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST: for it is the number of man; and his number is six hundred threescore and six.
{Revelation 13:18}

Tradition; Greek παράδοσις/paradosis = 666
by counting the letter values of the Greek transliteration;
P(80), A(1), R(100), A(1), D(4), O(70), S(200), I(10), S(200).

2,300 hundred prophetic days (years)
^
The cleansing of the sanctuary: ie; the judgment sets and the books are opened, in heaven.

Terminus quo 457 B.C. (Ezra 7:13) the final and complete decree to rebuild Jerusalem.

70 weeks [490 years] are determined
(cut off) of the 2,300 years.

7 weeks plus 62 weeks; 69 weeks is
483 years ___27 A.D. Christ ministry confirming [renewing] his covenant begins with his baptism into his priesthood at 30 years of age. < per Jewish custom.

___After three and a half years of the final week of the 70 weeks prophecy.
[31 A.D. 33 years of age]

Our Lord is crusified for the sins of the world, becoming the propitiation for our sins, reconciling man with our Father in heaven again, by his (provisional) imputed righteousness.

after three and a half years___34 A.D. the time of the stoning of Steven, the gospel that was for three and a half years after they crusified their promised Messiah only preached in Israel, only now went out also unto the Gentile nations___sealing up the vision and the prophecy for thy people; ie the literal Jews, under the covenant that God made with their fathers, whos covenant was under the testiment and mediator ship of Moses.

Now Christ has become the mediator of a new testament, purchased with his own blood, with better gifts and better promises.

At this point, there are 1,810 years remaining till the cleansing of the sanctuary in heaven.

___1844 A.D. the terminus quem.

And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; FOR THE HOUR OF HIS JUDGMENT IS COME: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
(Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.)
{Revelation 14:6-7}

All five of Daniel's time prophecies are fulfilled within the 2,300 days.

As the 70 weeks are a witness to a day for a year, the others must also be determained using the day for a year principle.

All time prophesies of Daniel have another to bear witness to, by either sharing the same terminus quo (beginning) or terminus quem
(time fullfilled).

The one thousand three hundred and thirty five years shares the same terminus quo
[508 A.D.] as does a thousand two hundred and ninety days, which in turn shares the same terminus quem
[1798 A.D.] as does, the forty and two months,
[t/quo 538 A.D.] same as a time and times and the dividing of time, same as a thousand two hundred and threescore prophetic days.

"The time of the Gentiles" (Rev 11)
The time of "the two witnesses" (Rev 11)
The time of "the little horn" (Dan 7)

The historicism (tried and proven) method of bible interpitation.

MYSTERY BABYLON

The seven headed beast of Revelation 17:

"Here is the mind which has wisdom"

The heads are symbolic of seven kingdoms, starting with the beast of Daniel 7;

1st < Babylon
2nd < Medo-Persia
3rd < Greece
4th < Pagan Rome
5th < Papal Rome; the little horn
("that was" & "is not" & "yet is")
6th < "one is"
^
The woman that rides the beast is in captivity at the time of John's vision, AFTER receiving the deadly wound from the (atheist) beast from the bottomless pit [Rev 11:7]. This is the beast of THE TIME AND PLACE of John's vision IN THE WILDERNESS.
(Meaning that John is in the wilderness in his vision and not physical on Patmos, and he sees a beast that would come up from out of this wilderness. Read Job 38:26.)

7th < "is not yet come"

At the time of John's vision in the wilderness, this head of the beast was yet to come; this is the beast from out of the earth [Rev 13:11];
(And he shall exercise all of the power of the first beast...) when this beast will speak like a dragon.

This beast must continue a short time, as per the others before him.

I believe by the testimony of Jesus, that we are now living in that "short time".

The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
{Revelation 17:8}

:11...even he is the eighth, AND IS OF THE SEVEN, and ascends out of the bottomless pit and goes into perdition.

--There are seven heads at the time of John's vision, five kings/heads/beast are fallen, so this eighth is of the five kingdoms...."that was"...."and is not"...."yet is" AND received a deadly wound; AND his deadly wound was healed.

This wound is the loss of her (the woman/church that rides the beast.) temporal sword (also her captivity), which is the earthly secular world kingdom.

This is the image of the beast (that great city), who like Babylon of antiquity, who thinks to usurp church and state craft.

The number eight is a metaphor for the resurrection. The eighth is resurrected from a former head of the seven; the 5th head that received a deadly wound.
(When he shall go into perdition: this will be the final dispensation of this beast with seven heads, that is a metaphor for satan.)

Jesus;
(The resurrection; Jn 11:25)  Ἰησοῦς/Iēsous = 888

by counting the letter values of the Greek transliteration;
I(10), E(8), S(200), O(70), U(400), S(200).

In antiquity the mountain was not only a metaphor for a kingdom, but it was also symbolic of the head of a (river) dragon that was symbolic of a river that flows out from a mountain, after the spring thaw and overflowing its banks, spreading out in the form of the dragon's tail.

The color is scarlet because it is symbolic of the blood of the saints of the Lord.

A woman in prophecy is always a metaphor for a church, in this case (Jezebel) it is the fallen temple of God.

The false prophet, a lamb (Christ like) with two horns, and/but will speak like a dragon (a wolf in sheep's clothing), will be the beast (from out of the earth ... the USA) that will make an image unto the first beast from out of the sea, who received a deadly wound and his deadly wound was healed.

The two horns are a metaphor for two (equal) kingdoms in one, church and state craft.
Medo-Persia also is expressed as having two horns [Dan 8:3], but one was higher, (Persia) and eventually usurps the other.

This is the image of the first beast from out of the sea (Papal Rome). Once the wall of separation of church and state is lost, then will the second beast from out of the earth become the image of the first beast, who claims the authority of both church and state.

Even so, come Lord Jesus. Amen
