More than 15,000 homes blacked out and almost 100 remain without power on the New South Wales South Coast after a severe storm moved through the region.

The NSW SES Commissioner urged motorists to be vigilant and regularly check traffic updates as many roads remain closed due to flooding.

Emergency services responded to more than 2,000 calls for assistance since Saturday, with many coming from drivers trapped in flood waters.
