The Idahoan shares his paraphrase of the 64th psalm.

Lyrics:

Oh Lord, my God, please hear my plea,
My life defend from those who work iniquity,
And from fear of the wicked set Thou my soul free!

They build an arsenal of bitter words,
Honed razor sharp like whetted swords,
To pierce like arrows through the soul,
And bring men under their control.

They investigate with utmost care,
To uncover their rival’s most secret affair,
So that with slander or blackmail,
They may ambush others and prevail.
In conspiracies they put their trust,
As they loose their arrows at the just.

But God shall shoot into their midst,
A shaft of truth and recompense,
Then all the words in their arsenal,
Shall return to compound their downfall!
Their conspiracies shall be brought to light,
And all their comrades shall take flight.

All men shall see it and declare,
The work of God with rev’rent fear.
All the righteous shall be with gladness filled,
For their trust is strengthened and fulfilled.
