The Idahoan shares his paraphrase of the 46th Psalm.

Lyrics:

God is our refuge and our might,
Therefore we will not fear,
Our ever-present King of Right,
In ev’ry trial near!

Let earth be rent from sea to sea,
The mountains’ roots laid bare,
All kingdoms in confusion flee,
All peoples cast into despair,

Still in the city of our God,
Our hearts shall rest secure,
Beside the sparkling gladsome flood,
That maketh all men pure!

The Lord of Hosts is in our midst,
His protection swift and sure,
Though heathen kings against us rage,
Through Him their wrath we can endure,

For the rebuke of God Most High,
Doth melt the very earth:
Armies who would His rule defy,
Shall burn like chaff upon the hearth!

The chariot and spear and sword,
Asunder shall He rend,
When against the people of the Lord,
Is turned their hostile end!

Thus wars throughout the earth shall cease,
In God’s glorious domain!
Be silent thou, and know His peace,
Who shall o’er all exalted reign!
