A water molt surrounded the entire pyramid in order to maintain the proper water level within the descending passage where oxygen worked it's way up to the ascending passage up into the Sound catalyzing Gallery. Hydrogen bubbles upwards from the Grotto and hovered above the oxygen... being much lighter that O2. There would be a slight mixing zone where the two gasses interfaced and the catalyzers would create heat and help the mixing of the two.
