Finally, freedom! I joined my friends at the Fort de la Revère, Col D'Eze, for some QRP SSB (low power voice) radio with my new QRPVer Minion SDR. I cut a half-wave wire for an end-fed antenna using a 49:1 transformer and also tried a 64:1 small (FT-82-43) transformer with a 20.25m wire (half-wave on 40m) in an inverted-V configuration using my Spiderbeam 12m fiberglass mast. I am now on vacation for a couple weeks so expect more field operations :-) I know you guys are going to ask about my hat, so it is a Stetson Bozeman.
