I want to talk to you today about “Filthiness of the Spirit”.

2Co 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Filthiness of the flesh is all psychical sin concerning the flesh. Your conscience will alert you when anything is amiss?

Filthiness of the Spirit goes much deeper.

1. Ill feelings towards another, bitterness, to wish anyone harm?

Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despite fully use you, and persecute you.

Hardest thing you will ever do, I force myself to pray for people I don't like.

2. UN-Forgiveness towards anyone.

You have no idea how much they hurt me? No one has sinned against you more than you have sinned against God.

Mat 18:32-35 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desired me: 33 Should not thou also have had compassion on thy fellow servant, even as I had pity on thee? 34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. 35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

3. False doctrine, if you believe something that it false that is ignorance, however if you teach false doctrine that is filthiness.

I constantly have conversations, buy books, etc. to get different opinions about doctrine that I question.

4. Thought life.

2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

Jer 6:16a Thus saith the LORD, Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
